MTM’s methadone treatment clinics strive to provide patients with forthright information about all pertinent aspects of their treatments, and we supply clear answers to patient questions. Whether you are taking part in our treatment program in order to recover from an oxycodone addiction or from an addiction to another opiate, you will always be treated with respect and as a full collaborator in your project of recovery.

Furthermore, treatment at MTM will not infringe upon your civil rights. Those that find themselves addicted to heroin, Percocet, or similar opiates are invited to get better informed about all the services that MTM offers. In an effort to make an understanding of your patient rights more accessible, we’ve listed them below. These hold true, whether you undergo a Percocet treatment or one for heroin addiction.   

Patient Rights—What MTM Guarantees

• You have the right to individualized treatment and services within the least restrictive environment possible.
• You will not be deprived of any civil right because of your treatment.
• You have the right to protection from harassment by any other MTM patient, outside agency, or person.
• You will not be discriminated against in receiving services because of your age, race, creed, sex, ethnicity, color, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, handicap, or religion.
• You may inspect your records subject to some limitations as included in MTM policies. We will provide these limitations to you on request.
• You have the right to participate in formulating your treatment plan.
• You will be informed about Advance Directives (“Living Wills”) and how to complete this document.
• You are encouraged to provide feedback about your treatment and to suggest how to improve services using the suggestion box in the lobby.
• You have the right to submit grievances following the Grievance Procedure. Any grievance you may have will be quickly resolved according to MTM and state requirements.
• Your confidentiality is protected by Federal and Pennsylvania laws and regulations. We may not tell anyone that you attend the program, or disclose any information identifying you as an alcohol or drug abuser unless:
  1. You consent in writing.
  2. The disclosure is allowed by a court order.
  3. The disclosure is made to medical personnel in a medical emergency, or to qualified personnel for research, audit, or program evaluation.
  4. You commit a crime on the premises, or threaten to commit a crime.
  5. The disclosure involves suspected child abuse or neglect.
• You have the right to obtain copies of all consents that you sign. Verbal requests for copies of consents will be honored within 24 hours. If you give written consent to release information, you may revoke that consent at any time by meeting with your counselor (or someone the counselor directly supervises, if the counselor is unavailable).
